I am contemplating boomerang jazz and I found at Felix Hess Thesis that I can do tests in water to analysis boomerangs.
I have few to say,
Prandtl and Bruce tanks are the smallest , desk size tanks
Prandtl made lots of experiments on his small tank with spheres and their effect on flow and flow effected on them and developed his theories. This is small marwel.
Lets talk about MIT Bruce tank , little bit longer and used effectively on boat drag prediction and its results are similar to 1000 times bigger tanks.
What can you do more and contemporary experiments ?
First nowadays , all the hydrodynamic small tanks are made with transparent plastic material or glass and tank is loaded with small plastic fibers which floerescent to uv and water.
Than experiment done and plastic parts flow near or far around the test object.
Few digital cameras records high resolution videos and these stereo images been converted to three dimensional simulations.
The intense UV light brighten the plastic parts and get sharp images.
I will now add a AEROdynamic test method to coming thread.
